General Management of Casinos grows and gets revamped with K2B

Description

Casinos manages and directly operates the games of Chance for Casinos and Entertainment Rooms, with a high-quality service. They directly contribute to government collections. They promote, control and supervise the activities of the Maroñas National Racetrack and other racetracks authorized by the General Management of State Casinos, as well as the control and supervision of Horseriding Agencies located all over the country. By developing their mixed system, “Casinos del Estado” is a central protagonist in the investment process for high-quality hospitality services in the country’s inland regions.

Ever since 2020, Casinos had been working with a very rudimentary solution, with several independent systems which did not interact with one another, which didn’t have integrated information, and which did not allow for queries with the level of disaggregation that the institution needed.

With the aim of modernizing their operations, they decided to implement a GRP (Government ResourcePlanning) solution in 2013 using the K2B technology, a tool whose main objective is to centralize information, achieve a higher degree of transparency for inventories, and manage and control fixed assets.

Scope

The main aim of the project, dubbed SIA (for its acronym in Spanish – Integrated Administration System), was to modernize the overall functioning of the organization by focusing on three main aspects: centralization, transparency, and integrity of its information. This would be done by integrating accounting, budget, financial management, and synchronizing the regulatory process with the Integrated System for Financial Information (SIIF for its acronym in Spanish), and the System for the Integration of State Purchases (SICE for its acronym in Spanish). Through these actions, their purpose was to avoid duplicating the information entered into their databases, thus ensuring that information in their different systems is coherent.

To carry out this project, a mixed team was created integrating employees from Casinos, from CPA Ferrere and from K2B. Each of them would be specialized in specific areas of the project. “The people are excellent, their human support, commitment and technical support is brilliant”, added Acct. Lopez.

By incorporating K2B, the organization automated and renewed their management, focusing on future growth. Acct. Lopez highlighted that, because this is a scalable solution, they can keep modelling on top of what there already is. Looking forward, she feels that they will always be able to adapt to any new requirements.
